Riga Wine & Champagne festival has established a collaboration with the new Riga Jurmala Music Festival – music lovers will have a unique chance to enjoy a set of wine and music paired up by the leading restaurants and sommeliers of Riga.
Starting from July 15, the beginning of the RJMF’s opening week, sommeliers of three restaurants – Vincents, Barents, Bibliotēka Nr.1 – will showcase wine menus specially selected in accordance with the festival’s repertoire. “In collaboration with the new music festival during which the classical music performed by the world’s leading artists will take over the concert halls of Riga and Jurmala, we have created a completely new experience for the music and wine lovers – we have paired up wine with classical music. The tailor-made pairs of wine and music will be presented by the best restaurants and sommeliers of Riga. We hope that we will help you to discover new shades of classical music and wine!” told the classical music lover and the founder of Riga Wine & Champagne Aigars Nords.
The wine and music matching will be carried out by the Europe’s leading and the World’s 3rd best sommelier Raimonds Tomsons who has created a special program of wine and music in collaboration with the chef of restaurant Vincents Oskars Sprukts. Kaspars Reitups, the best sommelier in the Baltics, with the chef Ivans Šmigarevs will pair up wine and music in the newly-opened restaurant Barents. Meanwhile, sommelier Ivo Orlovs will invite the guests of Bibliotēka No.1 to enjoy a champagne menu tailored to the repertoire of RJMF.
The first weekend of the RJMF will take place in Riga from July 19 to July 21. The three remaining festival weekends will take place at the end of August – starting from August 16 until September 1. The music and wine program devoted for the first week of the festival will be available starting from July 15. The restaurant program tailor-made for the three festival weekends taking place in August will be announced at the beginning of the next month.
