On August 25th, in the presence of more than 100 leading Latvian events professionals, awards were presented in 18 categories at the Latvian Events Producer Association’s (LaPPA) Event of the Year 2019 Awards. The international Riga Jurmala Music Festival received first place in two categories: Best Large Public Event, and Best Event Produced in Latvia.
In total, 64 events were submitted for the 2019 awards, organised by 28 different events companies and organisations.

“We are extremely pleased and honoured to receive this recognition, particularly as it has been awarded by events industry professionals and representatives who know and understand the various challenges linked with organising large-scale events. Although the industry has been impacted by the pandemic, we hope that each of us individually and everyone as a team can find new and creative ways in which high-quality local and international events can take place,” says Zane Čulkstēna, Executive Director of the Riga Jurmala Music Festival.
The industry’s most prestigious awards for excellent results in the organisation of public or corporate events, the LaPPA Events of the Year Awards have been held since 2010. Its aim is to highlight Latvia’s best original events, high-quality creative ideas and unique technical solutions voted on by a jury of industry professionals. Any Latvian events producer can submit their event for an award.
